Parent Discussion Meeting

Hello everyone,

            As you have all heard, there has been a fair bit of kerfuffle and confusion over competitions this year, due to the lack of hotel rooms, dates, other commitments, etc. Kindersley has been the main concern, as every hotel in the surrounding area is booked solid. The girls are gung-ho to stay in campers and such, but we know that’s not always feasible! As a result, we are going to be holding a Parent Discussion on Tuesday November 1^st, at 8:00 pm here at the studio. Please do your best to attend so we can work out what will be best for everyone!

Alberta School of Ballet Auditions

The School of Alberta Ballet is holding auditions across Canada for the Professional Division. We are looking for students age 10 and up. Auditions for the season begin October 2011 ending April 2012. A Master Class led by the school's faculty will be held on the same day in some cities. Triple Threat Workshop

Triple Threat workshop will take place in Saskatoon on November 19^th and 20^th. This is an excellent workshop with WORLD CLASS faculty.

Please let Ms Shauna know if you are interested! Money must be in by October 26^th; after that date, you have to pay extra!

• Junior: $180 (age 7-11)
• Intermediate: $200 (age 12-14)
• Senior: $200 (age 15+)

Part II

            Hello everyone! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We just have a few more things to tell you for this month:

No Classes – There will be no classes on Monday, October 31^st as the little ones will want to trick or treat, and the older students will be attending Spook. See you November 1^st!

HipHop Classes – Hip Hop classes have begun! Junior Hip Hop (ages 10-13) runs from 8:30-9:00; Senior Hip Hop (ages 14+) runs 9:00-9:30; however, Ms Shauna would like the Seniors to come at 8:30 as well so that everyone warms up together and works on some of the major steps. See you there!

Pointe Shoes  – Pointe shoes are en route! Ms Shauna wants them here as much as you guys do!

• Medicine Hat Festival of Friends: April 20^th-22^nd (depends on readiness of the groups)
• Swift Current Festival of Friends: April 27^th-29^th (Pre-Primary and Up, EXCEPT HipHop and TinyTots)

We also would like to add that we know hotel rooms are hard to come by, and so we are putting some feelers out to see if people would rather go to a different competition in Moose Jaw, Regina, or Weyburn instead of Kindersley. It will likely be a weekend in May rather than the same weekend as Kindersley. We are sending home a “poll” as well; please check off the competions your child wishes to attend.
